Cécile McLorin Salvant is back with a brand new album, her first orchestral album entitled With Every Breath I Take.

The orchestral album features the legendary Metropole Orkest conducted by Jules Buckley and is the follow-up to Salvant’s 2025 release Oh Snap. Along with the ensemble, Salvant performs timeless classics from the Great American Songbook such as “Lush Life” and ” with new arrangements from Canadian composer and bandleader Darcy James Argue.

“It is a rare opportunity to be able to make an album at this scale, which has been a dream of mine for many years,” Salvant says. “Darcy James Argue wrote stunning arrangements and the Metropole Orkest, conducted by the extraordinary Jules Buckley, gave these stories a cinematic dimension…I am so incredibly proud to share it.”

Salvant’s most recent album, Oh Snap, was released last September to critical acclaim and named best jazz album of 2025 by multiple news outlets. Founded in 1945, Metropole Orkest is the world’s only full-time orchestra that blurs the lines between big band, classical, jazz and pop. They most recently collaborated with Snarky Puppy on their latest release, Somni.

With Every Breath I Take is preceded by two singles, the title track and “Left Over.”
