Toronto jazz singer Caity Gyorgy shares new single Postage Due
The young Toronto-based jazz vocalist Caity Gyorgy has shared a new song called Postage Due, after offering a fun way to engage with fans who preordered the single.
Prior to the song’s release, Gyorgy announced on social media that she would send a handwritten letter in the mail to anyone who preordered the new single on Spotify or iTunes.
The song features Jocelyn Gould on guitar, Thomas Hainbuch on bass and Jacob Wutzke on drums.
Gyorgy says she wrote the song with her grandparents in mind, having been inspired by a visit to their home one day.
“Postage Due definitely wouldn’t have been written if I didn’t visit my grandparents.”
Gyorgy is a Humber College student who’s part of the current season of Jazzology, hosted by Heather Bambrick. Last year, she was named one of JAZZ.FM91’s Canadian women in jazz you need to know.
