Brandi is a dynamic New York City-based, Canadian-born bassist, vocalist, and bandleader originally from Vancouver. Her music and her performances are always ready at go. She commands strong bands and leads in a truly collective fashion. Music was at some very strong formative corners of her foundation. In one corner, her mom a Chicago-born jazz B3 organist and in another, an aunt, an award-winning vocalist.
The bass traditionally is a supporting background instrument in the jazz rhythm section, but Brandi fearlessly gives it a dimension of duality being both a strong anchor and an equally strong participating partner. There is determination with sensitivity to line, harmony and flow. Her bass comes alive as she plays and the energetic playing is infectious.
