Bobby Shaw is a Toronto-based saxophonist and composer. In 2019, he received his Bachelor of Music degree from Humber college, and has studied privately with Kirk MacDonald, Shirantha Beddage, Rob Christian and Kelly Jefferson.
As an avid participant of Toronto’s local music scene, Bobby has performed as a sideman in a wide variety of settings and musical genres. He has performed alongside local artists such as KC Roberts & The Live Revolution, The Sattalites, Jacelyn Holmes, The Classy Wrecks, among others. He has also appeared on studio recordings by Fergus Hambleton, Sean Bertram, Accolades, Siggi, and The Harmonauts.
Bobby is currently pursuing his master’s degree in jazz performance at the University of Toronto. He continues to perform as a freelance sideman, and plans on establishing his own jazz-based ensemble as a frontman.
