Fate dictated how long we were allowed to be charmed by Bobby Darin. His health challenges nagged him from birth and through his tragically short life. In the time we got with him the impact and the drive, the presence, the energy and puckish dynamics gave us memorable songs, compositions, acting sequences, and a blazing stardom that is as infectious today as it was in his lifetime. As if overcompensating for his health challenges, his ever-on-and-engaged pace of living was demanding, often beyond even those closest to him. His energy was fueled by a restlessness and a keen ambition that was all the more charged because of his accelerated and demanding life.

His musical creativity spanned jazz, and popular music of his day and included soul searching and socially aware music making in the folk and protest songs genres. From “Beyond the Sea”, and “Mack The Knife” to “18 Yellow Roses” and “Simple Song of Freedom”. The messages in his songs from pop to soul-felt expressions of love and concern were always and are always poignant.

Fate, razor sharp charm, and an infectious slyness in the artistic character make Bobby Darin unforgettable and forever iconically, sweetly memorable.
