This quote about this band comes from one of the Other Brothers in the band, Jeff Coffin: “Making music with these guys is like getting three scoops of ice cream instead of just one…It’s like when your parents let you lick the frosting bowl after baking a cake or getting the birthday present you always wished for but were afraid to ask.”
This under-the-bigtop-circus-in-town band is set on groove. They are the ultimate kind of jamming-for-the-cause movement and the cause is making good music. The members along with Coffin are Jeff Babko, Will Lee, Nir Felder, and Keith Carlock. I had the opportunity, by internet connection, to ask Jeff Babko who the band’s leader is, his answer was as sly as the essence of the group. He said it depends on who I was talking to at the time. That says it all about these guys, they are a single whirring engine of their many dynamic and creative parts making energetic leaps forward at all times. Imagine a marching band but with the savvy and moxy of a motorcycle gang and you’re sharpening the image.
Band of Other Brothers suggests a family created from many and gelled into one. Listen to their music made, they mean it every time.
