Augustine Yates began his classical piano studies at the age of 5 through the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), eventually achieving his ARCT diploma, one of the highest degrees offered through the RCM. During his high school years, he became enamored by jazz and began to study the art form. Now in his fourth and final year of a bachelor of music in piano performance at Humber College, Augustine has had the chance to study with many of Canada’s finest musicians, such as Brian Dickinson, Mike Downes, Pat Labarbera, Kirk MacDonald and Robi Botos.

Augustine has performed at various venues around Toronto, as well as his hometown Calgary with his own piano trio, the Dennis Kwok Jazz Orchestra, the Brenden Varty Quartet, the Rob Lee Group and various other ensembles. He is currently recording his debut EP consisting of original compositions that will be released next year.
