Ambrose Veno is a drummer and composer based in Toronto. He is currently in his fourth year studying jazz performance at the University of Toronto.

Veno began performing in public early on, taking advantage of the supportive DIY music scene in his hometown of Peterborough, Ont. Through these experiences he was exposed to a variety of genres and musical values, eventually growing a deep appreciation for improvisation and the jazz tradition.

Since arriving in Toronto, Ambrose has been collaborating and performing with various artists across genres such as hip hop, alt-rock, jazz and free improvisation. He has performed at venues including The Rex, the Emmet Ray, the Drake Underground and Lee’s Palace. In addition to freelance drumming, Veno explores composition through his connection to the guitar, rhythmic improvisation and digital audio workstations.

Veno is a student of Nick Fraser and has previously studied with Ethan Ardelli and Ernesto Cervini. He is currently working on a collection of original music for release.
