Cuban-Canadian pianist and composer Hilario Durán is among the jazz nominees for this year’s Latin GRAMMY awards. He’s nominated for Best Arrangement of the Year for the song “Night in Tunisia,” from his album Cry Me A River, released last year.

He is joined in the category by Barcelona Clarinet Players, Ricky Martin, Andrés Soto, and Orquestra Jazz De Matosinhos. Cry Me  A River is Durán’s first big band album in 17 years which showcases the Afro-Caribbean tradition of Latin jazz.
