This year’s edition of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival saw crowds flocking to Bloor Street and to venues across town throughout the week — and we were there to capture the action.
While our staff and volunteers camped out at the Yorkville block party with our tent and the new JAZZ.FM91 cruiser, several of our on-air hosts emceed some of the festival’s marquee concerts, including Brad Barker at Tower of Power, Laura Fernandez at Omara Portuondo and John Devenish at Cécile McLorin Salvant. We did interviews, gave away prizes, met some new and old friends and, above all, enjoyed some great jazz.
We have to especially thank our wonderful photographer Bill Beard, who went to more than a dozen shows with camera in hand and snapped some fantastic shots of some of the performers throughout the week.
