A new jazz duet has arrived just in time for the summer season thanks to Norah Jones and John Legend. The two have joined forces for “Summertime Blue” described as a “breezy, wistful duet from two acclaimed stars of the music world.”

It’s the first time Jones and Legend have collaborated thanks to producer Gregg Wattenberg who suggested the two musicians work together. “I’ve been working on a side project with Gregg, and when I found out he also works with John I got so excited because I’ve always admired him, but we had never crossed paths,” says Jones. “Gregg said we should do a song together and got the idea brewing so I jumped at the chance. John welcomed us to his studio in LA and we had so much fun recording and hanging.”

For Legend, this collaboration was a long time coming. “I’m so honored to be part of this beautiful record with Norah,” says Legend. “Her voice, soul and musicianship, her graceful presence, are all undeniable. I’ve been a fan for so long. I’m so glad we could finally collaborate.”

Jones starts European leg of her Visions tour on July 3 in Iceland while Legend is on tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album Get Lifted.
