Coming off the heels of her first single release in years, Molly Johnson surprised fans on Friday with a brand new EP, All I See, released via Universal Music Canada. The three-track project offers listeners a sneak peek into Johnson’s new musical direction with a perfect fusion of jazz and soul. In addition to the first single “All I See,” the EP also includes the tracks “Sunshine Showers” and Johnson’s ode to the late Haydain Neale of Jacksoul with her take on their 2004 hit single, “Still Believe in Love.”

Joining Johnson on this new release is her longtime trio, Davide Di Renzo on drums, Mike Downes on bass, and Robi Botos on piano, alongside emerging producer CUBE, who produced “All I See” and “Sunshine Showers.” Longtime Johnson collaborator and producer John “Beetle” Bailey co-produced “Sunshine Showers” alongside CUBE and assisted with the production on “Still Believe in Love.”

In addition to working on new music, Johnson continues her work as the Founding Artistic Director of the Kensington Market Jazz Festival which returned for its ten year anniversary during the weekend of September 19-21. On top of that, Johnson is currently at work on The Black History Project: Canada – an initiative she started to update Canadian history to include its impact and involvement with regards to Black Canadian history and the Underground Railroad.
