Molly Johnson is back with new music! Joining forces with emerging producer and multi-instrumentalist CUBE, she releases “All I See” a jazzy neo-soul effort that serves as sneak peek into what’s to come from Johnson musically.

Produced by CUBE and John “Beetle” Bailey, “All I See” features Molly Johnson’s long-time trio: Davide Di Renzo on drums, Mike Downes on bass, and Robi Botos on piano. CUBE is an up-and-coming singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist who released his first EP at the age of 15.

“What does a 66-year-old woman and a 20-year-old kid have in common? A real love of great music,” says Johnson about working with CUBE. “Collaborating with CUBE was inspiring and meaningful. I feel confident that the future of music is in good hands with this new generation and I’m so excited that I get to be a part of it. The future, it looks bright to me.”

For CUBE, working with Johnson on “All I See” represents the merging of two eras, the classic and the contemporary. “Molly is open, curious, and effortlessly cool,” he says. “Our sessions felt like a real exchange. I got to learn from her world, and she got a glimpse into what makes me so excited about ours today.”

In addition to working on new music, Johnson continues her work as the Founding Artistic Director of the Kensington Market Jazz Festival which returns for its ten year anniversary from September 10-21. As well, Johnson is currently at work on The Black History Project: Canada – an initiative she started to update Canadian history to include its impact and involvement with regards to Black Canadian history and the Underground Railroad.
