GRAMMY award-winning drummer and composer Larnell Lewis is paying tribute to the late, great Quincy Jones by curating a special Toronto tribute concert on Friday, June 13 serving as the opening night event of this year’s Luminato Festival.
A Glimpse of Quincy: Celebrating the legendary Quincy Jones is described as “an electrifying tribute to a living legend who transformed the global music landscape.” As curator of this important tribute, Lewis features Jones’ own catalog as producer including studio albums such as The Dude, Back on the Block and Q’s Jook Joint.
Joining Lewis in this tribute includes Joy Lapps, Divine Brown, Rob Christian, Kirk Diamond, Alexis Baro, Shirantha Beddage, Andrew Macansh and more.
Quincy Jones, one of music’s greatest architects, passed away on November 3, 2024 at the age of 91 from pancreatic cancer.
