These words are part of a description of the Danish guitarist’s sound: “…magical music, impossible to categorize or capture… best described as jewels revolving in mid-air, reflecting and refracting light.”
Bro studied trumpet first but was switched into the universe of the guitar by the magical carpet ride adventure of the music of Jimi Hendrix. With albums involving different bandmates with colorful titles such as Gefion, an ancient Norse goddess of agriculture and the essence of promise of life, Streams, Bay of Rainbows, Strands, and Returnings, the palette of mind splashing dramatic visual and equal experience collectively define Jakob’s artistry. These are some of his own words and they take you to where he creates from: “Much of my music is constructed around melodies… New layers of music are constantly added to the vocabulary…when you play, you unconsciously get to a new place.”
Jakob Bro’s is a magical music.
