The 2026 GRAMMY nominations are here and while Pop music continues to dominate this year’s nominations, Hip Hop has re-merged as a contender in the major categories and one of Canada’s jazz darlings secures her first nomination!

Our very own Laila Biali is nominated for the first time for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for her holiday album Wintersongs, sharing the category alongside Lady Gaga, Barbra Streisand, Elton John and Laufey.

Nominated again this year, this time in the Americana Roots categories, is Jon Batiste for Best Americana Album, Best Americana Roots Song and Best Americana Roots Performance for his latest album BIG MONEY.

Returning nominees include Samara Joy (Best Jazz Vocal Album & Best Jazz Performance), Christian McBride (Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album),  the late Chick Corea (Best Jazz Performance & Best Jazz Instrumental Album), Robert Glasper (Best Alternative Jazz Album) and Lakecia Benjamin (Best Jazz Performance), Dee Dee Bridgewater & Bill Charlap (Best Jazz Vocal Album) and Terri Lyne Carrington with Christie Daishell (Best Jazz Vocal Album).

Joni Mitchell is nominated for Best Historical Album for her archival release, Joni Mitchell Archives – Volume 4: The Asylum Years (1976-1980).

The 68th GRAMMY Awards will take place on Sunday, February 1, 2026 live at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
