The piano and keyboards playing vocalist’s artistic dynamics are exciting and have excited many. ICI Musique, Radio-Canada has used these words as part of describing the urgency of the need to know the music making of Shepherd: “..arrêtez d’attendre.”
Literally, the translation is ‘stop waiting’, but in the scale of how her music affects you I’d say it’s about not letting anything get in the way of your adventure listening. The sentiments are at once familiar with stories you feel you know but yet coming to you in newer, and spiritedly freshened ways.
Classical music is her foundation and earliest training. Her sound, at the keyboard and vocally is an intoxicating mix of exploratory jazz and pop. There’s a genre blend, and as it arrives it does so with some sweetness of defiance.
