JUNO-nominated singer-songwriter Barbra Lica is back with a new single in tribute to matters of the heart when it comes to unrequited love. The track, “The Things We Don’t Say”, is the latest release since Lica’s 2023 holiday single “On Christmas Eve” and her 2022 album Imposter Syndrome.
Lica, in a statement on her Facebook page, dedicates the single to “to every bookworm and participation ribbon recipient who dared to quietly love the captain of the football team or make eyes at the student council president.” She visited the jazz.fm91 studios last week and chatted with Raina Hersh on the process of making the song and the new orchestral album she’s currently working on. She treated us to a special performance of the song in Long & McQuade Performance Hall.
