It looks like Tony Bennett has done it again.
With the release of “Duets II,” off of which his duet with Amy WInehouse set a couple of records, Bennett has set yet another one. This time he receives the distinction of being the oldest living artist to hit #1 on the Billboard 200. The 85 year old Bennett sold 179,000 copies of the record in its first week.
The previous highest mark for Bennett came in 2006 with the release of the original “Duets” album which peaked at #3 on the chart despite selling more copies than the current record.
Bob Dylan used to hold the distinction of being the oldest with a #1 for his 2009 record “Together Through Life” which hit when Dylan was 67.
