The Youth Showcase Concert Series is a not-for-profit concert series that was established by multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Senaida Ng, with the intention of creating a platform for emerging local youth musicians to perform. In partnership with Downtown Markham’s annual Summer Music Festival, the Youth Showcase Concert Series gives artists under the age of 25 a chance to perform in front of a large audience. The Youth Showcase Concert is an event for youth run by youth to celebrate the talents of local musicians. The featured genres include pop, rock & roll, hip hop, electronic dance music, jazz, funk, acoustic and world music. The artists are also encouraged to play original music.

The concert series runs every Saturday throughout August from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Downtown Markham Courtyard. Admission is free, however, the Youth Showcase Concert donates a gift to a not-for-profit organization at the end of this season. For 2019, we are donating $2000 to 360 Kids, a local organization that helps youth at risk and provides youth shelters.

The Kickoff Concert, held on June 29 from 2 PM to 5 PM featured a glimpse of the amazing talent that will be featured in their music festival taking place in August. The lineup included the founder of Youth Showcase Concert and singer-songwriter, SENAIDA, as well as the rising jazz singer, Avery Raquel and her band, and the iconic rock & roll band from Markham, James Marrin & the Midnight Riders.
