Event: Voices United by the Toronto Writers Collective
Date: November 10, 2020
Start time: 2:00 PM
End time: 4:00 PM
This year has been filled with challenges for all, but few have been more universally impacted than artists. The closure of stages and venues and the cancellation of festivals and seasons have left many voices without an audience. The isolation that accompanies silence is something the Toronto Writers Collective (TWC) works to eliminate every day through our community writing workshops. We know the power of expression, its positive
impact on mental and physical wellbeing and the ways in which it builds community.
This is why we are hosting VOICES UNITED – a special writing workshop facilitated by artists specifically for artists as a healing space to release and explore the emotions that
have emerged during these unprecedented times. We know that writing together, sharing our words and being deeply listened to changes us and leaves us feeling hope
where it may not have existed before.
The first workshop will be on November 10 at 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. The second workshop will be on November 12 at 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. They will be hosted by poet and author Lisa Richter.
