Sunday afternoon’s program features:

TIM POSGATE JAZ BANJO

Tim Posgate banjo; Andrew Downing bass; Aline Homzy violin; Kelsley Grant trombone

A new quartet inspired by early jazz – when the banjo was king. Hearing this ensemble live will leave you smiling as the palpable transfer of energy between the audience and the performers.

DAVE DOUGLAS’ MARCHING MUSIC

(New York)
Dave Douglas trumpet; Rafiq Bhatia guitar; Melvin Gibbs bass; Gene Lake drums

Marching Music is a direct outgrowth of today’s uncertain political climate, conceived as “music you could have in your headphones when you attend “actions towards a just society.”

CAMERON/DAMON/LEE/REMPIS/SCHMIDT

Allison Cameron keys, electronics, various instruments, odds & ends; Tyler Damon drums; Peggy Lee cello; David Rempis saxophones; Cole Schmidt guitar

Festival curated ensemble

SILVERVEST

Kim Zombik vocals; Nicolas Caloia double bass

The unique Montreal duo offer an elegant, skeletal take on song. Sitting between the carefully mapped-out and daringly freeform, between popular sensibilities and avant garde restlessness, Silvervest’s sonic identity is clear and palpably melodic.

MICHAEL VATCHER

(Amsterdam/New York)

Michael Vatcher is an American percussionist with deep ties to the Netherland’s exploratory jazz scene.

CLARINET SUMMIT

(New York/Montreal/Vancouver/Amsterdam)
