Ontario Volunteer Service Awards

On Saturday, April 7th, five JAZZ.FM91 volunteers were honoured at the Ontario Volunteer Service Award during a special award presentation ceremony held at The Symes.

Each year the Ontario government recognizes individual volunteers for continuous years of commitment and dedicated service to an organization by presenting them with the Ontario Volunteer Service Award. Adults are recognized by the length of time they’ve volunteered with one organization, ranging from five to 65 years of continuous service.

At this year’s presentation The Honourable Laura Albanese, Ontario Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, as well as Cristina Martins, MPP Davenport were on hand to officially thank all the volunteers and present them with their trillium service pin and certificate. Both discussed the impact and importance of volunteers not only for their contributions to local communities but also for the significant impact volunteers have on Ontario as a whole.

JAZZ.FM91 was very proud to have five of our long-term, dedicated volunteers receive recognition for their service. Our heartfelt congratulations and thanks go to:

  • Hetty Bolhuis — 5 year pin
  • Jim Grant —5 year pin
  • Eva McKenzie — 5 year pin
  • George Gardiner —15 year pin
  • Christina Mallory-Munk — 15 year pin
