Doell shares the culmination of a multi-year process of gathering and resituating recordings of piano sounds through his very own algorithmic compositional tool. The interplay between Doell (piano) and the generative sampled material offers a labyrinthine journey through sonic spaces. DESCRIPTION:The final week of the TONE festival begins June 24 at the Tranzac with the highly anticipated Toronto performance of White People Killed Them—a collaboration between Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and sound artist Raven Chacon\, John Dieterich of Deerhoof\, and percussionist and installation artist Marshall Trammell. The provocative name calls on the subjectivity of the listener\, asserting a polemical sound that roils\, resists\, or resolves with each individual. The trio create sonic declarations with total abandon\, as vaulting electronics are buffeted by scorched guitar and propulsive drumwork.
