SUMMARY:Jazz Sundays at the Vista: The Cameron Watson Trio
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Ontario Place\nNew this year\, the Vista Eatery has turned into a weekly live music venue for emerging jazz musicians from across Ontario to perform on our waterfront patio! These musicians are students or recent grads from University of Toronto\, York University\, Humber College and Mohawk College. The program will provide these musicians the opportunity to gain experience\, develop their audiences\, network with fellow musicians and industry professionals and perform in one of the few venues in the city that features live jazz music. \nThe program is co-curated and hosted by Robert Missen\, who has had a long and distinguished career in the Canadian performing arts as artist manager\, agent\, producer and promoter. Robert has worked with some of Canada’s most notable performers and has a real passion and ability to nurture and showcase musical talent. \nSo sit back in a muskoka chair and let us provide the entertainment! \nPlease visit the Vista Eatery page for more info\, including location and regular hours of operations. \nThis Sunday: The Cameron Watson Trio\nCameron is a bassist originally from Lindsay\, Ontario. He started out playing drums at age 10\, then moved to guitar at age 12\, and finally settled on bass at age 15. In 2017\, Cameron was accepted to Mohawk College and began his studies in early September. At Mohawk he met other like minded musicians and has formed multiple groups with his peers. In addition to these bands he also works as a freelance bassist and finds work commonly in the jazz trio setting\, such as the one he finds himself in currently\, with drummer Lucas Hibbs and pianist Kevin Mak. After finishing his studies at Mohawk college\, Cameron plans on attending university\, and hopes to become a well known musician in Toronto and the GTA.
