DESCRIPTION:Come and join us at the Emmet Ray as the “Gelcer/Lovekin Collective” have their performance debut! \nThe concert will take place Thursday May 11th\, with two sets of live music starting at 6pm. On this particular occasion\, Jim Gelcer (Drums) and Oliver Lovekin (Guitar) are joined by featured artists David Hodgson (Saxophone) and George Koller (Bass) to bring to you an exploratory night of jazz quartet music. \nInspired by the great Jazz Standard tradition of Black American Music\, the Collective will draw repertoire and inspiration from jazz lumineers such as the great Thelonius Monk\, Ornette Coleman\, Miles Davis\, and Wayne Shorter\, to name a few. \nTickets are $15 (with a reservation)\, or $18 at the door. \nReservations are recommended\, and can be made at reso@erbar.ca \nThank you\, and we hope to see you there for the Collective’s premiere concert!

This special evening will feature Kollage\, one of Canada’s most important jazz bands born out of the tradition and importance of the Blue Note Records era of the ’50s and ’60s.
