DESCRIPTION:Harbourfront Centre’s highly anticipated return to live music is here\, and this year\, the Music Garden welcomes a new curator\, Gregory Oh. \nThe Summer Music in the Garden concerts take place most Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. at the Toronto Music Garden along the waterfront. It’s an exciting time for live music and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome you back! \nThe 2022 season features multiple commissions by Harbourfront Centre. \n\nThe Power of Two: VC2\nWith their fresh approach and willingness to try anything (twice)\, Amahl Arulanandam and Bryan Holt (VC2) are always discovering new sonic possibilities in the two-cello medium. They present a program of 21st Century works\, including music by Kelly-Marie Murphy\, Kati Agocs\, Chris Paul Harman and a brand new Harbourfront Centre commission by Danish cellist/composer Jakob Kullberg and Per Nørgård.

DESCRIPTION:Ashley Kurkjian performs LIVE from the Long & McQuade Performance Hall at the jazz.fm91 studios on Aug. 11\, 2022\, as part of our Discover Women in Jazz concert series. \nAshley Kurkjian is an accredited music therapist\, a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) and a freelance musician in Toronto. Ashley currently leads and composes for her seven-piece chamber fusion band Different Era\, who released their self-titled EP in October\, 2016. Ashley can also be heard performing around the GTA with bands GRACE and Human Magic. Ashley has also had the pleasure of playing the Halifax Jazz Festival with Chelsea McBride’s Socialist Night School\, the Beaches International Jazz Festival and more with GRACE and The Achromatics\, and the Toronto Undergraduate Jazz Festival and the Korean Harvest Festival with Different Era.
