DESCRIPTION:The TD Toronto Jazz Festival and jazz.fm91 are excited to present Bachman & Bachman\, a special concert curated specifically for the TD Toronto Jazz Festival. Presented by OLG\, Bachman & Bachman airs Thursday\, Dec. 17\, 2020\, at 7 p.m. ET on jazz.fm91\, with streams simultaneously on YouTube and Facebook; it will be rebroadcast on both platforms until Jan. 15. \n \nIn an intimate and acoustic setting\, Canadian music icon Randy Bachman and his son Tal Bachman tell stories and perform some of the songs which helped to inspire Randy’s signature sound\, with a setlist that includes a mix of jazz standards\, selections from the incredible catalogues of The Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive (BTO)\, and a surprise or two from pop culture. As part of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival’s commitment to supporting local musicians at all stages of their career\, the Festival also invited four musicians to put their own spin on a Randy Bachman written or co-written tune: Brooke Blackburn\, Genevieve Marentette\, Kaia Kater and the Heavyweights Brass Band were given a blank slate — the ensemble and interpretation was completely up to each artist — and we’re so excited to hear what they each created. \nFor this special presentation\, the TD Toronto Jazz Festival has partnered with two charities who are providing vital resources during this challenging time.
