Jodi Shanoff

Jodi Shanoff

I have participated on Not-For-Profit and community boards over the years.  My areas of focus include governance, strategic planning and organizational evaluation/metrics.

What I do outside of my volunteer work at JAZZ.FM91:
Jodi Shanoff is Vice President of Consultation and Engagement with Environics Research.  She has functioned as a Public Affairs professional for over 20 years, working both as a supplier of strategic insight, and as a senior policy advisor with the Government of Ontario.  In recent years, Jodi has applied her research skills and tools to the realm of consultation and engagement where she works on behalf of clients to bring stakeholders and decision-makers closer together in exercises that shape messages, products and policies.  Jodi also has an active volunteer life, serving as the President of the Board of Directors of the Miles Nadal JCC.  Jodi has also served on other volunteer boards including the Public Affairs Association of Canada (PAAC), the Danforth East Community Association (DECA), and acts as an advisor on Seneca College’s Government Relations PAC.  Jodi earned her BA from the University of Ottawa and her Masters from the University of Toronto.  She lives with her husband, Mike, and their two children in Toronto’s east end.

Why I Support JAZZ.FM91:
I am new to the JAZZ.FM91 universe and look forward to learning more about Toronto’s vibrant arts and music community through my affiliation.  I am inspired by the organization’s mission not only to promote Canadian artists, but also to support musical education for emerging talent within Canada’s jazz community.

How I plan to support JAZZ.FM91 through my Board contribution:
Through my volunteer work, I enjoy helping organizations establish frameworks and metrics to quantify and demonstrate their successes.  I don’t always have the right answers, but my strengths lie in asking the important questions that help an organization understand itself.  I look forward to bringing these questions and approaches to board deliberations at JAZZ.FM91
