Identities Documentary Series wins Finalist Award

Last year JAZZ.FM91 launched Identities The Documentary Series. The series looked into the lives and accomplishments of seven musicians who immigrated, or sought refuge in Canada.

Ranging from renowned Toronto resident, jazz pianist Robi Botos (who originally came from Hungary), to Pakistani sitar player Anwar Khurshid, the series chronicled the lives and careers of remarkable musicians from around the world whose search for their identities was challenged as a result of their decision to leave their homes and move to Canada.

Put together by award-winning Documentarians Alan Lysaght and Paul McGrath, and narrated by Jackie Richardson, the series has now been awarded a finalists award at the prestigious New York Festivals International Radio Award in the “Culture & The Arts” category.
