Christopher Tufaro

Education: A 4th year Piano major in the Bachelor of Music at Humber College; currently holds a Grade 10, as well as Grade 4 Intermediate Harmony and History Certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music

Style: Classical, Jazz, Funk, R&B, Pop, Rock

Christopher has received numerous awards for his solo, duo and group performance pieces, placing 1st and 2nd at the Canadian Music League, as well as 1st in three separate categories under the ARCT division for the North York Music Festival. His most recent accomplishments include scholarships such as the Oscar Peterson Prize and the Gordon and Anne Wragg Music Scholarship from Humber College. Christopher has played with Jazz artists such as Christian McBride and Emilie-Claire Barlow. Additionally, he has been invited as a guest performer for many community concerts and events, including Arts Exposed for the York Region Arts Council, the 2017 TD Jazz Festival, as well as numerous private corporate functions.

Christopher has had experience training vocal students at his former high school for RCM examinations and performances. Over the past 4 years, he has accompanied various choirs and soloist projects. Furthermore, he has also led a Music Workshop designed for students at the elementary grade level within the York Catholic Region Board of Education.
