Christopher Anderson-Lundy is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from Whitby, Ontario, currently studying at York University. He started his musical training with piano lessons at age 7, later picking up the guitar and singing in his teens. Chris’s first performance experiences were as a folk singer-songwriter, writing and performing original songs around Whitby while in high school. Playing the clarinet and saxophone in school and community bands led to an interest in jazz, which quickly became his main focus. At York Chris has had the opportunity to play with and form several different bands: FOMA, a future jazz/neo soul sextet; Xoana, an energetic and intelligent hip-hop band; the Brandon Sisco Group, a modern jazz quartet; and the Toronto All-Star Big Band. Chris has also been involved with several York ensembles, such as their Electro-Acoustic Ensemble, and playing lead alto in the York University Jazz Orchestra. All of these groups have made Chris very active on the Toronto music scene in many different styles, including jazz, hip-hop, folk, soul, and funk. Chris combines his diverse musical experiences into a unique and stimulating sound through his compositions and improvisation.
