The Canadian Jazz Archive Online began as an effort to restore and preserve Sound of Jazz Concert Series performances, recordings and broadcast interviews, and grew into a much larger initiative—making the information available to the public via canadianjazzarchive.org. This amazing archive includes additional audio, visual and textual materials about artists and key figures who have shaped the Canadian jazz landscape.
The site also offers educators curriculum-relevant teaching tools for classrooms, customized for grades 5–6, 7–8, 9–10, and 11–12 and a wealth of engaging aural, visual and textual material that will appeal to artists, educators, students, and jazz enthusiasts.
The Canadian Jazz Archive Online was made possible by funding through the Canadian Culture Online Strategy and the Heritage Policy Branch of the Department of Canadian Heritage. We would like to acknowledge funding support from the SOCAN Foundation.
