Manteca has been a pan-cultural jazz mashup since the group started in Toronto in 1979. Now, it’s time to celebrate 40 years of an international music innovator.
This Juno Award-winning collective draws on musical influences throughout the Americas, creating original compositions and arrangements using the roots of world, jazz and orchestral music. For the past four decades, they have toured the world as Canada’s musical ambassadors, bringing audiences an explosive, high-energy show full of joy and exhilaration.
To celebrate their 40th anniversary this year, Manteca will play an intimate, interactive concert for a small crowd at JAZZ.FM91 that will also be broadcast live to our radio audience.
We’re offering JAZZ.FM91 donors a rare opportunity to see the group play a one-hour concert in the small, intimate atmosphere of the Long & McQuade Performance Hall on Monday, Nov. 4.
