    First Listen: The Cookers Quintet - Volume Two

    The Cookers Quintet are a Toronto-based group with a sound firmly rooted in the ‘50s and ‘60s hard bop movement. Their name is inspired by the 1965 Blue Note recording “Night Of The Cookers," featuring Freddie Hubbard and Lee Morgan.

    This is their second release called simply Vol.2 and this time features 3 vocal tunes w/ Leron Thomas/Johnny O’Neal/Dawn Pemberton.
