    Jazzahead! announced full 2017 showcase

    Jazzahead! has announced its full 2017 showcase.

    The festival says next year, the four multinational juries, which select the showcase program had a total of 547 bands from 55 countries who submitted entries. Subsequently 40 bands from 19 countries made it  through to the official jury selection.

    Thw showcase kicks off with a night devoted to partner country: Finland. Eight bands will perform. "The bands comprehensively reflect the variety of the Finnish jazz scene, which is currently enjoying a particularly exciting and powerful phase”, said  Mikkomatti Aro, Artistic Director of the Pori JazzFestival and a member of this year’s jury, in a press release.

    Other highlights in the German Jazz Expo, with eight bands presenting Jazz Made in Germany; Overseas Night, where bands outside of Europe will present their views on jazz.

    Jazzahead takes place from April 27 to 30, in Bremen, Germany.
