    He has helped create the sounds of iconic albums (like “Bitches Brew”) as well as iconic ensembles (like the Keith Jarrett Trio and his own groups).  He’s a Grammy winner and the National Endowment for the Arts awarded him with a Jazz Masters Fellowship for his “significant lifetime contributions [which] have helped enrich Jazz and further the growth of the art form”.

    On May 7, 2013, The York University Jazz Orchestra directed by Mike Cadó, and the JAZZFM.91 Youth Big Band led by Jules Estrin share the stage in a concert featuring classic repertoire including works by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Oliver Nelson, Bob Brookmeyer, Stan Kenton and others. Joining the bands on stage will be special guests Ron Westray (trombone) and Sundar Viswanathan (alto saxophone).
