    Where Are They Now?

    Max Senitt

    This week we feature drummer Max Senitt, Based in Toronto, he is very active as a performer and educator, playing a variety of musical genres including jazz, pop, and world music. Since completing his studies at Humber College in 2007, Max has been performing with artists such as Alex Cuba, Hilario Duran, Carol Welsman, Eliana Cuevas, Elizabeth Shepherd, David Buchbinder, Gord Sheard, and Alexis Baro. He also leads his own group, the Max Senitt Trio, playing Toronto venues and touring extensively.

    Ben Dietschi

    This week we feature saxophonist and composer Ben Dietschi. A native of Winnipeg, Ben has made Toronto his home since completing his graduate studies at the University of Toronto, where he studied performance and composition with Tim Ries, Andrew Downing, Gary Kulesha, and Terry Promane. He has appeared at major festivals and venues across Canada, Europe, and the U.S. and he has performed as a sideman in many of Toronto’s top jazz and creative music ensembles.

    Aline Homzy

    This week we feature Aline Homzy, a violinist and composer who was born and raised in Montreal. Equally adept in the musical worlds of classical and jazz, Aline has performed across Canada with the National Youth Orchestra and David Occhipinti’s Camera Ensemble.  While completing her studies at Humber College, she had the opportunity to perform with Danilo Perez and Guido Basso and travel to Kentucky, Mexico, and Italy. She attended the Banff International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music, working with artists including Dave Douglas, Adam Benjamin and Donny McCaslin.

    Christopher Butcher

    This week we feature Christopher Butcher, a trombonist, producer, and bandleader who has established himself as one of Canada's top trombone players. An important contributor to the jazz and world music scenes in Toronto, he has performed with artists such as Jane Bunnett, Hilario Duran, Archie Alleyne, and Nikki Yanofsky.  As a member of the Heavyweights Brass Band, the group’s debut record Don’t Bring Me Down received widespread acclaim and saw them tour Canada extensively. Their new record will be released in March 2014.
