    Where Are They Now?

    Adam Teixeira

    This week we feature drummer and percussionist Adam Teixeira, who participated in Jazzology in 2006.

    A native of Toronto and a graduate of the music program at Humber College, Adam Teixeira is active on the Canadian and International music scenes. Comfortable in a broad range of musical styles, he performs perform regularly in live and studio settings with various original projects as a freelance musician and bandleader. Some groups he works with include Monsoon, Teixeira / Riddell Duo, Tropical Punch, and the Adam Teixeira 5tet.

    Carissa Kimbell

    This week’s featured artist is vocalist Carissa Kimbell, who participated in Jazzology in 2012.

    Carissa s received her formal musical education as a student of the Mohawk College Applied Music program in jazz vocal performance, where she studied with Pat Collins, Bob Hamper, Ranee Lee, and Carol McCartney. She also had the opportunity to sing for Norma Winstone, Don Thompson, Ranee Lee and Hal Galper in master classes and sing backup vocals with guitarist Larry Carlton in concert.

    Heather Segger

    Our featured artist this week is trombonist Heather Segger, who took part in Jazzology in 2008.

    Heather Segger is an active member of the Toronto jazz and improvised music communities as trombonist, composer, bandleader, curator, and educator.

    Ali Berkok

    This week we feature pianist and composer Ali Berkok, who participated in Jazzology in 2009.

    After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in music from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ali relocated to Toronto and completed his Master’s degree from the University of Toronto, where he is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree under the instruction of David Braid.

    Jesse Dietschi

    This week’s featured artist is bassist Jesse Dietschi, who participated in Jazzology in 2012.

    A versatile musician and composer equally versed in jazz, classical, and popular music, Jesse earned a Masters degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Toronto and a Masters degree in Composition from Brandon University.
